We are a group of Reformed Christian believers in New Braunfels, TX who are a member congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church.
Our purpose centers on the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ, the One exalted far above all principality and power, who leads, rules, defends, and expands his kingdom—the church. The nations are being reached by word and deed to worship and serve. He is gathering adults, together with their children, to follow him in discipleship, to live out their baptism, to walk in obedience following their Lord. We gladly take up our commission, as the Lord Jesus commanded, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
Church life is more than coming to a worship service on Sunday. It is that most importantly, but not exclusively. We seek to preach the whole counsel of God through expository sermons and we participate in the administration of the sacraments. But we also believe in pastoral care and nurture of the people of the congregation.
The work of the church, in fellowship with and obedience to Christ, is divine worship, mutual edification, and gospel witness. The means appointed by Christ through which the church does this work include the confession of the name of Christ before men; the exercise of fellowship in encouraging one another; the reading, teaching, and preaching of the Word of God; praying; singing; fasting; administering baptism and the Lord’s Supper; collecting and distributing offerings; showing mercy; exercising discipline; and blessing the people.
